Zurich, 2 March 2020 - Volunty Corporate AG has been operating under the new name atwork since 1 March 2020. The name change follows the expansion of the subject area from pure corporate volunteering to employee engagement and the extension of the range of services. Atwork now offers three modules: innovative employee surveys in the form of pulse checks (pulse), professional solutions for handling internal employee activities such as corporate volunteering, sports and training (active) and a mobile application for efficient and relevant communication (connect).

What’s new and improved atwork

“Our goal continues to be supporting companies in fostering employee engagement and creating a generational work experience”, says Marco Meister, co-founder & CEO of atwork. “This is particularly important as surveys show that only 13% of Swiss employees are highly engaged.”

“Employers are facing a major challenge, as the ambitious younger generations Y and Z will take over the majority on the Swiss labour market in 2021. If companies want to keep their top talents, they have to inspire them. We help companies in doing so,” says Philipp Blumer, Co-Founder & Chief Sales Officer of atwork. “In a society where employees change jobs more often, employee engagement is more important than ever for companies.”

According to atwork, employee engagement is lived when employees bring their full selves to their professional roles and are physically, cognitively and emotionally present in the execution of their work activities. This is the basis of the new company slogan in English: "With hands, head and heart at work".

Since 2019, atwork has been working with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) to understand employee engagement in a scientifically sound way and to derive modern software solutions from this. Together with ZHAW, the employee engagement lifecycle was developed: Employee engagement must be measured in a scientifically sound manner at regular intervals, concrete measures derived and their effectiveness evaluated. This holistic approach is recognised by Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for innovation, and rewarded with funding in the six-figure range for further research and work in the area of employee engagement.

After the first successes in Switzerland, the start-up has expanded to Stuttgart (D) in 2019. With the new name and expanded product range, atwork will continue to expand internationally and enlarge its market area.
